ART SIZING

Find the right size for your wall.

The best size depends on the furniture below it, the wall around it and the amount of visual presence you want.

START WITH THE WALL

Scale changes how a room feels.

Measure the open wall area and the furniture below it. Use painter’s tape to mark the proposed outer dimensions before choosing your artwork.

  • Above furniture: aim for about two-thirds to three-quarters of its width.
  • Leave approximately 15–25 cm between furniture and artwork.
  • When choosing between two sizes, the larger option usually feels more intentional.

A SIMPLE APPROACH

Three steps to get it right.

01

Measure

Record the wall width and the furniture width separately.

02

Mark

Outline the artwork dimensions with low-tack painter’s tape.

03

Step back

View the outline from the room’s normal entrance and seating position.
